Estonia has come a long way for such a small country. Today, it pulls in the tourist crowds looking for a city break with a difference with its beautiful capital Tallinn, in all its medieval glory. But Middle Age splendour aside, you’ll find much more on offer in this diverse little Baltic country than you think. Now there’s something you didn’t expect. Of course you could always head off on a tour of Estonia’s 1,500 or so islands, or check out the country’s rich history that includes 200 manor houses dating from as far back as the 13th century, and don’t forget the historic university city of Tartu and Tallinn in all its medieval glory. Pick Estonia as your next holiday destination and you’ll be shocked by just how much this small country has to offer.
The most popular time to visit Estonia is during the summer, which extends from June through to August. Visitors can expect temperatures to average around 21 degrees coupled with extremely long days, meaning you can make the most of the country’s sights and attractions. Winters are also a popular time to visit, especially if you’re interested in taking advantage of the country’s winter sports. Be warned, the mercury does drop below freezing and the days are short. But Estonia doesn’t get any more beautiful than when it is covered in a blanket of snow.
