July and August are the hottest months of the year in Budapest and also when most visitors fly in to explore the city under balmy conditions. It's not usually humid although rain and thunderstorms are common enough. Travel in August for Budapest's legendary music fest, Sziget.
Avoid the crowds
Sidestep the high hotel and flight prices of midsummer by flying to Budapest in September or October. These autumnal months are usually still lovely and warm with plenty of sun.
