While you can’t fly directly to Gozo, it’s very easy to get there after booking a flight to Malta by taking the ferry from the main island. In less than two hours from landing, you could be basking in the beautiful Maltese sun at your Gozo accommodation.
The recommended way to get from Malta to Gozo is to take a taxi or private transfer from the airport to the ferry terminal in the north of the island (Cirkewwa), and then to take the 25 minute ferry crossing. If you prefer to hire a car, you can also take the ferry as a car passenger, leaving you with max flexibility to explore Gozo. If you’ll be exploring other parts of Malta first, you can catch a boat from Valletta, Malta’s capital city, to Gozo in less than 45 minutes.
Beyond its natural beauty, Gozo has a rich history and cultural heritage. Explore the ancient Ġgantija Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site older than the pyramids of Egypt, wander the quaint streets of Victoria, the island's capital, and experience traditional Maltese life in Marsalforn or Xlendi. Discover Maltese cuisine, a unique blend of Italian, Spanish, French, and middle-eastern flavors, and savor local wines at traditional bars across the island.
