From June to September temperatures in Newcastle have been known to soar to around 35 degrees, so it’s a lovely time to visit to make the most of the city’s riverfront cafes and restaurants. May is a popular month for festivals, while December welcomes an influx of visitors who want to take advantage of the shopping centres and festive Farmers’ Market.
Thanks to its electric nightlife scene and sights like Newcastle Castle and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, Newcastle is a city break titan pretty much all year round. That said, if you visit outside the busy summer months (especially in the school holidays) and the Christmas period, you’re sure to experience lesser crowds.
