Village charm in Southern Istria
You'll find the charming village of Pjescana in Istria's south, just a couple of kilometres south of Pula. Tranquil beachside bliss is what most travellers are after on a holiday to Pjescana, and they aren't disappointed.
The village was named after the lovely sandy bay found at its foot. Two hills on either side shelter it from the wind even in winter. Stretch your legs after a spell on the sand with a walk to the marina - the best-equipped in Croatia - to see the yachts and people watch. And when it's time to refuel, you might be surprised to learn that while Pjescana may be small, its culinary offering is anything but. This little bay boasts a cornucopia of restaurants serving seafood and regional wines, at least one of which - Restaurant Oasi - is considered to be among the very best in the country.
