A swish option with incredible restaurants

If you’re looking to stay at one of the very best hotels in Limassol – call off the search. Amara is a luxury hotel with bells on, not least because it has attracted two award-winning chefs to its folds.

Everywhere you roam feels pristine, with architectural elements that’ll have design fans cooing. If you’re weighing up family holiday options, it’s good to know that Amara is also exceedingly family-friendly, thanks to a complimentary children’s club designed for ages 4 to 12 and a creche for infants from 18 months. They’ve even got things like bottle warmers to borrow, to help you pack a little lighter.

When the wee ones are safely looked after, there’s a high-end spa (with a particularly indulgent signature treatment involving diamond dust) and a serene indoor swimming pool to slip away to. But if you’d sooner be beneath that glorious blue sky, there’s an outdoor saltwater infinity pool.

There are six places to eat and four bars here, so plenty of variety if you know you’ll be in the hotel more than out.

Days begin in the Breakfast Room, an indoor/outdoor area with sea views where you can choose from the buffet or order dishes freshly cooked in live cooking stations. Ristorante Locatelli is an Italian restaurant masterminded by a Michelin-starred chef. There’s also Beefbar for street food-inspired dishes in elegant surroundings, Nerea for seafood on the seafront, and Matsuhisa Limissol by world-renowned Nobu Matsuhisa, where you can watch an accomplished brigade of chefs create incredible dishes in the open kitchen.

Staying at Amara is a luxurious selection in itself, but you can elevate it further by choosing one of the seafront cabanas to stay in. They come with private pools on a large terrace. But across all room types, expect high-tech touches like automated mood lighting and electric blinds. The rooms are also whisper-quiet, thanks to extra soundproofing, helping land that all-important good night’s sleep. Shhh…
