What Absalon Hotel has to offer
The Meatpacking District
Just five minutes’ walk away from the hotel is the area known as the Meatpacking District, where former industrial buildings have been renovated and converted into a plethora of restaurants, bars and nightclubs with a cool, down-to-earth vibe. It’s well worth checking out, especially in the evenings when it really comes to life.
Tivoli Gardens
Since opening in 1843, Tivoli Gardens has become a Danish national treasure and one of the most visited attractions in Copenhagen. It’s the third-oldest operating amusement park in the world today, with more than 20 rides of all different speeds, shapes and sizes, dozens of places to eat and drink, and live music in the evenings – so even if you’re not a thrill seeker, there’s no shortage of things to do. You’ll find the nearest entrance on Bernstorffsgade, just opposite Central Station, around 500m away from the hotel.
The Lakes
The southern end of the three rectangular lakes that divide the western fringes of Copenhagen’s city centre from the neighbourhoods of Frederiksberg, Nørrebro and Østerbro is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. It’s a beautiful area for a walk, a jog or a leisurely bike ride, and there are plenty of great places to stop for a coffee and a pastry in the streets that branch off on either side of the lakes.
