Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur
Built in 1919, this church is the high point of any trip to Montmartre… quite literally! Perched up on top of the hill, you’ll enjoy a wonderful view of the city from up here. If you don’t fancy the walk up, save your legs and take the 90-second funicular ride.
Artist Quarter, Paris
Many artists have called Montmartre ‘home’ over the years, and taking a stroll around their old haunts is a great way to spend a day. Vincent Van Gogh moved into 54 Rue Lepic in 1886, while Renoir worked out of 12 Rue Cortot. And in the early 20th century, a little-known Spanish painter called Picasso took up residence at the famed Le Bateau-Lavoir.
