Poros Holidays

A peaceful port town

Poros may be one of Kefalonia’s sleepier towns, but excavations suggest it was once an important region on the island. Today, Poros holidays make for a quiet and peaceful escape, with plenty of history nearby, and some lovely beaches right on the doorstep. Thanks to its location on the eastern side of the island, Poros also serves as one of Kefalonia’s main harbours, used by ferries and yachts throughout the day.

Holidays to Poros allow you to divide your days between lazing on the beach or in one of the town’s little cafés and watching the boats come and go, and more active pursuits, such as hiking the coastline, visiting an atmospheric monastery or exploring nearby Drakaina Cave. And if you’re after a little more buzz, then Skala, one of the busiest holiday resorts on the island, is just a 20-minute drive away.
