Tourlos Holidays

A serene corner of Mykonos

The beach at Tourlos, on the northwest coast of Mykonos, is a great deal more peaceful than many of its neighbours – it has a lovely stretches of golden sand, but is less commercial than some, without the familiar array of organised sunloungers and water sports concessions.

The added bonus of Tourlos holidays is that you get peerless views of the new port. So, as well as sunshine, upmarket hotels and great food, you can spread out your towel on the beach and enjoy watching the slow, gentle comings and goings of boats ranging all the way from tiny fishing craft up to gigantic cruise liners. All this serene loveliness is combined with great seafood restaurants, and a lively and welcoming taverna scene. If you want to branch out, Mykonos Town is just a short taxi ride away, making holidays to Tourlos a good bet for travellers of all tastes.

Your Tourlos questions, answered

Most disembarking cruise-ship passengers make their way straight to Mykonos Town, so while there are some tourists here, it certainly isn’t cramped, especially on the beach.
Around 400 metres in length. At each end you’ll find long sandy stretches, in some places with reeds offering shade and natural colours. In the middle it’s predominately rocks.
From June through to August the temperatures rarely dip below the mid-20s. For a slightly more chilled time, with even fewer crowds, try May or September.
