A little inland from mainland Greece’s northwest coast in the Epirus region, this olive-studded hilltop village gives you those away-from-it-all feelings. With mountains on one side and the sparkling Ionian Sea on the other, it’s a distinctly beautiful part of Greece with rugged terrain, making it ripe for a bunch of activities for outdoorsy types, with climbing and biking ready and waiting. Thinking of hitting the beach? Then you’ve got plenty of options – try Karavostasi or Arillas – both beautiful swathes of sand that invite utter relaxation.
Perdika itself has a smattering of churches and taverns, giving you a peek into authentic Greek life. If you’re looking for more, pretty Parga, the so-called Riviera of the Epirus, is just a 20-minute drive down the coast. Want more still? Take a ferry to Corfu. It’s about a 90-minute voyage from the mainland.
