Splendour Resort

If you want to be close to the heart of town but you like a bit of peace and quiet, the Splendour Resort could be a splendid option for you. This boutique hotel can be found on the outskirts of Firostefani village, and comes with sweeping views over the sparkling Aegean Sea. There’s a walking trail that takes you straight to Fira from the hotel within a 10-minute wander – unless you’re tempted to stop at a coffee shop or restaurant on route. Or if you’re up for a hike, the trail leads all the way to Oia – the town you’ll have spotted on countless Santorini postcards.

The pool area is a great place to spend the day. It’s a split-level rectangular number that’s set into a roomy sun deck, which is scattered with loungers and canvas parasols. You’ll also find a shallow pool for little ones to splash in. The poolside bar offers freshly squeezed juices, expertly-shaken cocktails and light bites throughout the day. At mealtimes, you can head to the on-site restaurant, which serves up a range of international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or, let your nose lead you to the local tavernas.
