Stand outside the Palace Hotel and you’ll see that it really lives up to its name. This 19th Century Art Nouveau-style mansion looks fit for royalty, and the interiors don’t disappoint. Expect grand halls with glitzy chandeliers, intricately detailed ceilings, and antique furniture.
As far as location goes, it doesn’t get much better than this. The Palace Hotel is in a lakefront spot and comes with sweeping views over the water. You’ll find the Duomo, the Piazza Cavour, and plenty of museums within a five-minute walk, as well as the train station, which provides connections to Milan and its airport. The ferry terminal is also nearby, which is great if you’d like to get out on the water to see more of the villages that surround Lake Como.
