Regina Palace

Stand outside the Regina Palace Hotel and you’ll find that it really lives up to its name – you almost expect to see royal parades in the courtyard. This grand property first opened its doors to guests in 1908, and it’s maintained the same old-world charm through careful renovations over the years. Expect grand halls with glitzy chandeliers, intricately detailed ceilings, and plenty of antiques. In fact, the lobby is filled with so much art and period furniture that it could pass for a museum.

The Regina Palace Hotel sits in a central spot in Stresa, surrounded by immaculate gardens. It’s just across from the lakeside promenade and comes with sweeping views over Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands. Heading out and about? Stresa has a trio of bustling piazzas, and cute boutiques and cafés line the cobbled streets.
