Gallipoli Holidays

A picturesque Italian hotspot

Situated on an island in the Ionian Sea, its old town accessed from the mainland via a 16th-century bridge, Gallipoli is astonishingly pretty. The old city is surrounded by fortified ramparts made of golden stone, while the narrow tangle of streets is ablaze with geraniums.

Gallipoli holidays allow visitors to access some of Italy’s most glorious beaches, with golden sands that gently shelve into the gin-clear Ionian Sea. There’s little better than strolling around the atmospheric island-town, where its charming buildings often feature rooftop terraces, which are ideal for taking in some of those sumptuous sea views. For the ultimate vista, head to the bars on the ramparts – an ideal spot for watching the sunset streak the sky while you relax with a drink. You’re bound to fall in love with this pretty place – holidays to Gallipoli more than live up to its name, which means ‘beautiful city’ in Greek.
