On the outskirts of Lecce, seven minutes from the closest beach and ten minutes from the centre of the town, this boutique hotel has just 28 rooms, each brimming with intricate handcrafted Moroccan furniture and four-poster beds.
The spa is styled like a Moroccan riad and opens in the afternoon for treatments. Alongside pink Himalayan salt scrubs, you can take a circuit of the sauna, Turkish bath, experiential shower, and saltwater pool. There’s also a large outdoor pool with plenty of sun loungers for those times when you just want to kick back and relax in peace and quiet.
In the restaurant, expect to be treated to lots of local goodies, from the exceptional regional wines to the vegetables harvested from the fields nearby and fish plucked from the Adriatic. Although the restaurant’s surroundings are distinctly Moroccan, the menu is undoubtedly Italian – surely the best of both worlds?
