Sitting at the mouth of the Mazaro river on Sicily’s western coast, Mazara del Vallo holidays revolve around the ancient Old Town and an enchanting maze of streets known as the Kasbah. Golden-stone buildings are topped with turquoise domes that echo the colour of the aquamarine sea nearby, while narrow lanes are lined with lemon-yellow and rose-pink Baroque and Norman churches. The town overlooks a fabulously beautiful coastline, making this an ideal holiday base on the Sicilian seafront.
Nearby, Litorale di Tonnarella stretches for 8 kilometres, with golden sand and an expanse of sea that’s popular with surfers and kiteboarders.
