Sliema Holidays

Malta’s magnificent commercial hub

Considered by many to be an essential destination in Malta, Sliema holidays take you right into the heart of the island’s commercial district. Home to a gorgeous promenade, called ‘The Front’ by locals, it’s a shopper’s dream with a range of retailers selling everything from clothes and souvenirs to local produce and food.

Hints of its British history are still in existence, with plenty of traditional pubs to be found among the more modern buildings. Sliema’s juxtaposition of stately traditional properties and contemporary apartment blocks makes it an interesting place to explore, while its close proximity to St Julian’s and Valletta means you can take part in an array of activities nearby, from history walks to clubbing.

Once a fishing village, the resort is now one of the most popular hubs on the island and holidays to Sliema have broad appeal thanks to its extensive development, diverse range of shops and numerous things to do. It’s an all-round winner.

Valletta is just a 15-minute journey by bus or in a taxi. However, to enjoy picture-perfect views of the coastline, go by ferry, which takes the same amount of time.
If shopping is your thing, then you should head to The Point, Malta’s largest retail shopping mall, which is full of great shops, cafés and restaurants.
A dip in the Roman Baths should do the trick, although their name is slightly misleading as it’s thought they were actually built in the Victorian era.
