What Campanile Kraków South has to offer
Wawel Castle
Perched atop Wawel Hill overlooking the Old Town and Vistula River, this majestic complex is a symbol of national pride in Poland. The oldest parts of the castle date back over a thousand years, with significant additions taking place between the 14th and 17th centuries. It’s a fantastic spot to dive into Polish history, as well as snapping a few panoramic photos. You’ll find the castle on the edge of the Old Town, approximately 20 minutes via tram from the hotel.
Kazmierz
Until the Second World War, this area served as the cultural centre for Polish Jews – the historic synagogues and cemeteries dotted around offer a glimpse into this past. Today, it’s home to a thriving creative community, so if you’re a fan of independent art galleries, vintage clothes shops and inventive cocktails, you’ll want to pay it a visit – especially as it’s only 20 minutes away by tram.
Getting around
Krakow is served by an excellent bus and tram network, which criss-crosses the whole city. Bus and tram tickets are interchangeable too, so it’s super easy to use. The hotel is a five-minute walk from the nearest tram stop, meaning you can get into the town centre within 20 minutes.
