Holiday heaven on Spain’s east coast
This little town in the Castellón area is one of a string of quiet holiday resorts along a glorious 75-mile stretch of Costa del Azahar amid the citrus groves that give the Orange Blossom Coast its name.
Alcossebre is lapped by the sparkling Balearic Sea, and there are gorgeous beaches, hidden coves, and watersports galore to take full advantage of its location. Don’t leave without checking out Playa de las Fuentes, where freshwater springs bubble up through the sand. The largest beach is Playa Carregador, with the perfect sandcastle building sand and a playground to complement hours of paddling and bucket-and-spade action.
As well as being a family-friendly place, Alcossebre is the perfect resort for nature lovers, with a natural park to follow trails through. Offshore, there’s an archipelago of uninhabited islands where you can learn about the wildlife that live here from the park rangers.
