Port Adriano hosts a monthly pop-up market that runs from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm. A celebration of local designers and artists, the Aftersun market is a good place to pick up one-off fashions and unique souvenirs. There's also a chill-out area with DJs, live music, and a cocktail bar. If you’re not in El Toro for the Aftersun market, take the 20-minute drive to Calvia and spend a day at the Monday afternoon market. This weekly bazaar is the region's oldest market. It has over 60 food, clothing, and handicraft stalls along the Calle Mayor boulevard.

Q: What are the beaches like near El Toro?

They're glorious! You'll find golden sand, crystal clear warm summer seas, and all the facilities you need. Many of the best sandy stretches are within walking distance of the main hotels. It's a tough call, but Playa El Toro is probably the standout spot. You might hear the locals call it Cala de Penyes Roges. It gets the name from the beautiful red rocks around part of the beach.

July and August are the warmest months, making El Toro the ideal summer holiday destination. Temperatures regularly push up to 30°C, and the days are long and clear. It's the perfect kind of sun-worshipping weather for holidaymakers after a relaxing beach vacation. The weather begins to cool in early September, but it's still pleasant enough for beach days and walking tours. And with most of the holidaymakers gone, accommodation costs are lower. The temperature stays as high as 20°C during October and November, although you’ll have an increased chance of rain.

El Toro is a small neighbourhood in the Calvia municipality. It's a quiet seaside community with less than 2,500 permanent residents. As such, the nightlife is chilled and relaxed. It's a place for couples and friends to enjoy good food, relaxing drinks, and evening strolls along the seafront. Port Adriano is a popular spot. Designed by famous architect Philippe Starck, Port Adriano is where you'll find El Toro's best restaurants, wine bars, and steak houses. And it's well-known for its homemade ice-cream stores. So, grab a sweet treat after dinner and admire the superyachts floating in the harbour.

Q: How far is El Toro from Magaluf?

Although it sits on the opposite coast, El Toro is less than a 15-minute drive from party spot Magaluf. The 123 bus service leaves El Toro for Magaluf every 15-minutes. Services run until around 10.30 pm. Tickets cost about €2. Taxis charge an average of €12-15, but you might have to pay more after midnight. Despite being so close, El Toro and Magaluf couldn't be more different. Magaluf is an infamous party destination that attracts large numbers of younger travellers from all over Europe. Peak season in rowdy Magaluf isn't for the faint-hearted.

El Toro is a small port town situated on Majorca’s south-west coast. It melts into neighbouring Santa Ponsa, a larger and livelier resort. It’s a great choice if you want to stay somewhere fairly peaceful, but close to Majorca’s best bits. Palma, the island’s beguiling capital, is just over a half-hour drive from here, and neon-lit Magaluf is just 10 minutes away if you fancy a night on the town.
