Kanapitsa Holidays

Serene escapes beside the sea

If you’re looking for a warm and peaceful seaside break, Kanapitsa is the place for you. Located on the sun-baked southern coast of Skiathos – a small, picturesque island off the bottom tip of Greece – this quiet village feels a world away from the busy tourist trail.

Spend lazy days on the two local Blue Flag beaches – which promise golden sands, crystal clear waters, and plenty of sun loungers – and walk coastal paths to the secluded coves of Delfiniki and Koutsouri. Nearby Tzaneria Beach also offers scuba diving and water sports.

Relaxing evenings are best enjoyed along the village’s waterfront, which offers views across the azure ocean and is overlooked by pine-crested hills. There’s a selection of charming bars and restaurants to choose from, while Skiathos Town is only a 10-minute taxi ride away and offers more of a party vibe.

The local area also produces delicious wines and olives, while you can’t leave the island without feasting on the sweet macaroon-style biscuits called amygdalota.
