Koukounaries is fantastic for families. The gentle slope of the beach means there’s plenty of calm, shallow water for the young ones to paddle in, while the wide variety of water sports on offer is sure to keep older kids entertained.
Koukounaries is eight miles from the airport. A transfer from the airport will take about 25 minutes. In a taxi, it costs roughly €15.
Skiathos has an excellent, regular bus service. From the stop in Koukounaries, it takes about 30 minutes to get into Skiathos Town. Cars and bikes are also available to hire at a reasonable price.
