A GOOD-LOOKING MONTENEGRIN TOWN
Becici is a good-looking town on the coast of Montenegro. You’ll find it nestled between cloud-tickling mountains and the glistening waters of the Adriatic Sea. Becici’s beach is a real talking point. It unravels along the coastline for nearly three kilometres, and comes with a wide belt of sand and pebbles. So, there’s plenty of space for sunbathing during the summer months, followed by sipping sundowners at the beach’s very own cocktail bar. The main street of the town is the promenade, skirts the sands. It’s lined with pocket-sized shops selling souvenirs and local crafts, and there are plenty of Balkan restaurants to try, too. Fancy a daytrip? Sveti Stefan is a 10-minute taxi ride away – here you’ll find a tiny island topped with pastel-coloured buildings, only joined to the mainland by a sliver of sand. Plus, Budva is only a 20-minute walk away and it almost looks like a miniature Dubrovnik. Built in the 15th century, this terracotta-topped town is home to a Medieval citadel and pretty harbour.
