EXPERIENCE THE RICH HISTORY OF THIS ICONIC HOTEL
Housed in the former headquarters of international cruise line Holland America Line, Hotel New York offers a little slice of history with your stay. Rooms here are funky and unique, just like the rest of the hotel. As for exploring, that’ll be a breeze thanks to the handy public transport links – the tram and metro are both within eight minutes’ walk.
Fancy catching a film while you’re here? There’s a private cinema – Rotterdam’s first in fact – tucked inside the hotel where you can enjoy everything from the latest blockbuster to a cult classic. All you have to do is book a slot, and they’ll take care of the rest. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head to the café-restaurant and grab everything from a quick bite to a plate of oysters.
For a real treat though, you’ll have to visit NY Basement, a trendy restaurant that’s been pulled right out of 1930s New York. Expect tasty food, plentiful cocktails, and bags of character.

What Hotel New York has to offer
Wilhelminapier
This charismatic pier & boardwalk is just two minutes from the hotel and holds plenty of history. Here you’ll find striking art, such as the steamship chimneys, and it’s the perfect place to take a stroll along the riverside.
Kop van Zuid
This vibrant neighbourhood is a gentrified former docklands and is surrounded by incredible architecture, such as the De Rotterdam and Montevideo. When the weather is good, it’s a great place to enjoy a drink on a terrace and watch the water taxis arrive.
Food Tour
If you’re a foodie, then a walking food tour is a great way to experience the local cuisine. You’ll taste Dutch specialties like bitterballen and poffertjes, along with craft beers and treats.
