What Ibis Rotterdam City Centre has to offer
The Markthal
The magnificent Rotterdam market hall is one of the most famous pieces of contemporary architecture in the Netherlands. It also happens to be home to around 100 food stalls selling high-end produce and cuisine – so it’s well worth making the five-minute walk from the hotel if you’re feeling peckish.
Cube Houses
Another of Rotterdam’s architectural marvels, the cube houses – or Kirk-Kubus – are less than 10 minutes away on foot. The forest of tilted cube-like structures might look strange, but they make great homes for the people that live inside them. For a small fee, you can visit the ‘show cube’ to see what life in a cube house is like for yourself.
Climb the Euromast tower
You can’t miss the Euromast. Standing at 185 metres, it’s easily the tallest building in the city. Located only 20 minutes from the hotel by public transport or 30 minutes on foot, it’s well worth a visit. The views from the top are breathtaking but it can get busy, so it’s worth buying a ticket in advance. For adrenaline junkies, there’s also the option of abseiling back down – perhaps not straight after a meal at the tower’s fancy restaurant, however.
