Alegria Palacio Mojacar

The Alegria Palacio Mojacar has pretty spectacular surroundings. As the name suggests, the hotel is housed in a former palace, and with its soaring minarets and sweeping arches, it’s retained its grandiose look and feel. An adults-only resort, it’s incredibly peaceful here. The hotel is tucked away on the outskirts of Mojacar Pueblo town centre and surrounded by gardens, yet it’s just a five-minute walk from the nearest beach.

The resort is totally geared up for relaxation. There are two pools in the heart of the grounds, edged by glossy palms, loungers and chic Bali daybeds, plus a waterside bar dishing up cocktails and lights bites. Inside, the spa plays host to an additional pool, along with a sauna, Turkish bath and a string of cabins for soothing treatments. If you fancy upping the tempo, the hotel has a state-of-the-art fitness centre, and you can borrow bikes to cycle round the Almeria countryside.
