To reach Lake Como, you can book a flight to Milan, which has three airports: Milan-Malpensa Airport (MXP), Milan–Linate Airport (LIN), or Milan-Bergamo Airport (BGY). From there, you can easily reach Lake Como by rental car, train, or bus within less than 2 hours. Whichever airport you travel from, you’ll have a beautiful journey passing through the Lombardy region. Linate and Malpensa are more conveniently located for Como, particularly if you’ll be using public transport.
Time in Lake Como is best spent on the water. You can book charming private boats to take you around the crystal-clear waters with no distractions, or hop on any of the ferries that regularly criss-cross the lake. With either option, you’ll be able to see the stunning villas that perch on the shores of the lake, and can visit the charming villages like Bellagio, Varenna, and Lecco.
Enjoy plentiful wine and pasta at gorgeous restaurants looking out over the water, and eat a lot of gelato as you slowly wander around the tiny streets of these lakeside wonders.
